While the food is good, the service isn't. They treat you as if you are lucky that they will accept your money. The place has long lines on weekends, and eventually, someone will come out and establish the end of the line and tell everyone else to leave. I've always gotten really good food there, but it's really not worth the crappy and condescending service.

While it's not bad at all, Niko Nikos is mostly for people who aren't really familiar with Greek food. If you've been to Greece, it will likely be a bit of a let-down but not completely. While it's counter service, service there is always friendly. Even when the place is busy, you'll get your food quickly. It's more expensive than most Greek restaurants in the area, but that likely has a lot to do with its location. Montrose is not an inexpensive area of Houston to operate a business.

I'll give it two stars because most of the staff is friendly. However, calling this place "The Eagle" is quite misleading. Usually, the name denotes a leather/Levi's crowd with some bears mixed in. Unfortunately, most of them would be out of place here. They might be fine on the weekdays, but on weekends, forget it! The place is packed full of squealy boys with arched eyebrows, makeup, and designer clothes who bring their straight women friends who get sickening drunk and puke off the balconies. Those who would visit an Eagle bar in most places would be much less out-of-place at the Rip Cord, just up the street.

Unfortunately, the City of Quebec isn't what it once was. Either the new owners or management has pretty much driven out the gays. While one can still spot a few, men who come in alone are viewed and treated with suspicion. A gentleman who was seated near me at the bar got up to visit the WC. After a few minutes, a female bartender summoned the security guy and asked him to go into the men's loo and find out what that "old queer" was doing in there. This is obviously no longer a gay or even gay-friendly establishment.

As long as you know what you're getting into, Tabasco Bar is a great place to hang out while visiting Berlin. It's a pretty relaxed place with friendly bartenders who speak great English and reasonably priced drinks. Yes, hustlers ply their trade there, so make sure that you're prepared for that. They don't call them hustlers for nothing, so keep your belongings secure. None of the guys there appear German. Most are Romanian, Bulgarian, or some other Balkan nationality. Some are quite well-maintained while others appear dirty and unkempt. If you do decide to leave with one, don't take him back to your hotel room. Remember, hustler! Just up the street is Hotel Stockholm, which rents by the hour and caters to prostitution, which is legal in Germany.
