The queer community revels in excess. It wants more fun, more muscles, more lovers, and even more summers. The LGBTQ+ enclave of Provincetown may be best known as a warm weather destination, but after Labor Day, it gears up for its “Second Summer,” with a slate of queer events to heat up its crisp autumn months. When it comes to P-Town, more is more.

SEPTEMBER

Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theater Festival

September 26-29

Celebrating its 19th season, this festival explores the playwright’s connection to Cape Cod through a series of live performances. P-Town has always depended on the kindness of strangers.

OCTOBER

Mates Leather Weekend XXVII

October 3-7

P-Town lets its freak flag fly for this long weekend of leather-kink camaraderie.

Town Crier Competition

October 7

Hear ye, hear ye! Do you have what it takes to be P-Town’s next top crier? Provincetown is one of four towns in Massachusetts that still has a town crier, a position currently held by Daniel Gomez Llata, who will host this competition to see who will wear the three-cornered hat next.

Ptown Soccer Classic XXVII

October 11-13

Who’s ready to handle some balls? Presented by the Boston Strikers Soccer Club, the weekend includes the Welcome Party, Wigs & Heels Tea Dance, a full day of soccer, and a Dinner Banquet. Here’s hoping you score, by every definition of the word.

Women’s Week

Celebrating its 40th year and featuring over 300 events, this week showcases the best female-focused talent in the queer comedy community.

Trans Week – The Original Fantasia Fair

October 20 – 27

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Trans Week, an immersive social experience. Attendees are encouraged to spend the entire week 24/7 presenting their gender as they identify. You be you, boo!

NOVEMBER

Spooky Bear Halloween Weekend

October 31- November 3

This fur-raising weekend features parties, dances, a haunted house, and a costume ball for Daddy BEars and Baby Bruins alike.

Provincetown Food & Wine Festival

November 7- 10

P-Town is fine like wine with this weekend of tasting events, a pie competition, and a Sunday tea dance.

New England Leather Weekend

November 22-24

This weekend of fetish fun culminates in the announcement of this year’s New England Leather 2024 title.
