Regardless of the flight length, choosing your airplane seat can be a stressful and FOMO-like experience. Who you sit next to and behind can significantly impact the quality of your flight, but where are most travelers settling their tushes these days?
Unsurprisingly almost ⅔ of airline passengers say they prefer the window seat, not only for the great views, but for the extra support when nap time comes around. 1.7% of psychopaths said they preferred the middle seat, but let’s assume that they like to get snuggly with their partner/family/random stranger.
There is a lot to be said for an exit row. Although it comes with the added pressure and responsibility of becoming an emergency evacuation expert, the extra legroom puts this section toward the top of most travelers’ list of preferred seats.

Many who travel with children say that an aisle seat near the bathroom will save a lot of time and anxiety when it comes to potty breaks and infant mental breakdowns. Whereas the older crowd generally prefers to be as close to the captain as possible, whether that’s in business class or simply the first few rows that are accessible.
Whether traveling solo or with your loved ones in tow, snag the seat that fits your needs best; it will ease a ton of travel stress.
