Justin Trudeau’s photo from Montreal Pride is going viral

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau attended Montreal Pride, and while the day started a little gloomy, it quickly turned as bright as the celebration.

As the sun peeked out, Trudeau posed for a photo underneath a double rainbow and posted it with the caption, “The sky got the memo.”

This was particularly apt since this year’s theme was “We Are the Rainbow.”

Thousands of revelers marched down the 2.5 km parade route along with floats and even a queer line-dancing group. Attendees also noted that the state of LGBTQ+ rights has been perilous lately, but the community refuses to go backward.

“No matter how they think, what they want to do with the politics, we’ll still be there and they cannot erase us,” local drag queen Iris De Lys told CBC News.
