bear season

[PHOTOS] Provincetown Bear Week was a real wiener fest this year

The bears, wolves, cubs, otters, and their admirers spent a furry and fabulous week in Provincetown, MA, for Provincetown Bear Week. One of the largest celebrations for the community, Bear Week was filled with live entertainment, dance nights, BBQs, pool parties, and more. Bear Week featured over 100 events by the Provincetown Bears, the Provincetown Business Guild, and many businesses and venues.

Nina West headlined a one-night-only show at Provincetown Town Hall. She also hosted and hung out with the bears in their “natural habitat” – poolside at the popular and sold-out Otterpop Pool Party at the Crown & Anchor.

The Bear Week Wiener Roast at the Brass Key was hosted by Big Dipper, with tunes provided by DJ TDon. There were all-you-can-eat wieners, the big wiener package contest, and smokin’ hot go-go wieners. This fun and cheeky event also sold out.

The last few years of Bear Week have seen growth in trans and non-binary representation. For a theme week founded in and making space for self-love, body positivity, and inclusivity, this year’s new Provincetown Business Guild event, Gender Splash, fits right in. A trans and body-inclusive pool party at AWOL Hotel already has attendees clamoring for its return in 2025.

On the next few pages, we’ve gathered some of the hottest photos of bears and otters stripped down to their pelts and sunning next to the pool. Check out our slideshow for photos of hot dogs and eye candy.
