Provincetown is getting ready to bid farewell to 2022 and welcome in 2023 with First Light, December 29, 2022 – January 1, 2023, the final celebratory weekend of the year. Ring in the New Year with fireworks, stellar shows and performances, dance parties, special New Year’s dinners at local restaurants, and the annual Provincetown Polar Bear Plunge.
Enjoy the last few moments of the holiday season with the incomparable Dina Martina and her Christmas Show at the Crown & Anchor on December 29. On New Year’s Eve, start the festivities with Austin & Mackenzie’s Ball Drop Bingo at 1 pm and then watch the annual fireworks display from Tin Pan Alley at its First Light Fireworks Cocktail Party. Spend the final hours of 2022 with live performances from Christine Ebersole at Town Hall and Lea DeLaria and Qya Cristál at The Club.
Choose from a myriad of dining options, including a special menu at Crown & Anchor’s brasserie, a 5-course dinner at Victor’s, the year-round eclectic menu at Fanizzi’s, the Tin Pan Alley’s a la carte menu, and chalet-style food and drinks at the Canteen’s Winter Lodge. Dance the night away and toast the beginning of 2023 at the Crown & Anchor or the A-House’s New Year’s Eve parties.
Wake up on New Year’s Day with the sixth annual Polar Bear Plunge. Gather in the Johnson Street parking lot, collect t-shirts, and listen to live music. Then at noon (weather permitting), run, splash, and plunge into the waters of Provincetown Harbor. Post-plunge, visit Harbor Lounge to warm up with a cocktail, then head over to the Provincetown Brewing Co. to recharge at the Hair of the Dog Disco later in the afternoon.
